I Love the Lord Jesus More and MoreI grew up in a Christian family. I got saved when I was twelve years old. About two years ago I was really open to the Lord and spiritually hungry. In my free time I spent much time with the Lord Jesus. At the same time, a Christian brother that was formerly in my denomination shared with me about Christ. He just talked about Christ and His riches. I really was impressed; it was so new for me. He told me that I have a human spirit and that Christ lives in my spirit. He also told me that we can enjoy and touch Christ. I saw how the Lord changed His life. He gave me the book, The All-Inclusive Christ from Witness Lee. I started to read it, but I didn't understand it. I started to spend time with the Lord in the morning with this brother and another Christian brother. To me, it was very new to call on the name of the Lord Jesus and to pray with the words of the Bible. In the beginning I listened more, and then I started to participate more and more. After these times together, I felt so strengthened, happy and nourished. Eventually, they invited me to the meeting in the local church. A lot of things were new for me; I was also a little bit skeptic. I told the Lord Jesus, “Show me the truth.” After the meeting, we ate lunch together. A lot of brothers and sisters talked to me; I really felt at home. It was like a family. All the believers were very genuine and simple. Later, I read the book The Glorious Church from Watchman Nee. One evening when I was reading this book, I saw the revelation of the church; it was like a veil was taken away. I was happy. I touched my spirit. The Lord Jesus is so rich and sweet, and I love Him more and more. More of Christ When I read my first book by Witness Lee, The All-Inclusive Christ, I didn't understand it. Every thing was so new for me, but I kept reading it because I realized that Christ wanted to be more to me. Until this time I just knew that Jesus died for my sins on the cross. Then I read the book The Glorious Church by Watchman Nee. Again, at first I didn't understand it. I prayed to the Lord Jesus that He would open my eyes. Hallelujah, one evening when I was reading this book, I touched my spirit, and the Lord Jesus took a veil away. I saw His purpose; I saw the vision of the church. I was so happy. Every time when I read a book by Witness Lee or Watchman Nee, I read it not to simply get more knowledge. Rather, I exercise my spirit and pray to the Lord that He may open my heart to Him that I may receive the life that is in the Word. In 2 Corinthians 3:6 it says, “Who has also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant, ministers not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” I realize the Lord wants to give me life and not just knowledge. When I read a book from Watchman Nee or Witness Lee with an exercised spirit, I see something more of Christ. M.F. | Back to List |
